The Stuhrling Original Men's Sportsmans Collection Brown Falcon Swiss Quartz Chronograph Date Watch begins with a 48.5 millimeter (including crown) tonneau-shaped case made from solid 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. An extra ring of steel with minute markers every ten minutes borders the bezel. This timepiece is marshaling the Swiss quartz chronograph movement, Ronda Startech 5030-D. Featuring an add-and-split-function chronograph with small seconds, a twelve-hour counter, and quick-set date complication, this world class movement is made with all metal parts while hosting six jewels. The dial begins with a four-piece dial highlighted by a stylized dial-plate that frames the chronograph-function sub-dials and the date aperture while presenting a minute-track around the circumference of the carbon-fiber-covered main dial. The minute and hour counting sub-dials are hosted on their own dial-plate and have been hydraulically embossed with a concentric circle design. An “invisible” small-seconds sub-dial at the three o’clock position appears as though the indices are floating directly on the carbon-fiber main dial. The hand for the small seconds sub-dial is completely unique; the stylized Falcon-head insignia is blued and the “beak” is treated with luminescence serving as the pointer for the seconds! The distinctive crown is wrapped tightly with a two-millimeter wide ridge rubber belt. The extra-heavy Krysterna™ crystal provides protection on its face, while this fantastic timepiece is water resistant to 165 feet. A prodigious thirty millimeters wide at the case, the brown silicon rubber strap is secured to the case with two steel screws on each side and tapers down to twenty-two millimeters at the buckle. The fancy indices have all been individually applied to the dial, while the sharp Dauphine style hands are laced with a fine streak of luminescence.
